Hargrave’s Academic All-State student athletes from fall sports were recognized and honored before the Huffman ISD school board meeting on Dec. 17.
“We recognize students at monthly board meetings because we want them to know how proud we are of them and their accomplishments,” said Huffman ISD superintendent Benny Soileau. “We are building a tradition of success in Huffman.”
The Hargrave cross country runners who earned Academic All-State recognition were: seniors Nic Davault, Brynn Roper, and Noah Layne.
The Hargrave volleyball players who earned Academic All-State recognition were seniors Casey Warren and Dez Cardenas.
The Hargrave football players who earned Academic All-State recognition were: seniors Matthew Tomjack, Caleb Tiffin, and John Eccles.
“One of our goals is to develop well-rounded students who are able to find the right balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. When Students are able to excel in both areas, they should be recognized and applauded for their dedication and drive to give the best of themselves in all that they do,” Soileau said. “This is the Huffman Way.”
Huffman Middle School eighth grader Sierra Johnson, was also recognized and honored for winning the Huffman ISD Christmas card contest.
