Security guard found dead in Vancouver identified
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The Clark County Medical Examiner’s office has identified a security guard found dead in an apparent homicide in Vancouver as 83-year-old Benjamin Lyons.
The Columbian reports an autopsy found Lyons died of multiple sharp and blunt force injuries.
The Vancouver Police Department says officers responded at 12:16 a.m. Monday to a report of a man on the ground in an industrial area of the city.
Officers found Lyons, an on-duty security guard for KnightHawk Protection, a private security business. His body was found in the parking lot.
KnightHawk owner Rusty Rice says Lyons, who was unarmed, had been with the company for a year or so. Rice says staff last checked in with Lyons at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said investigators have not identified a suspect.
