OVERISEL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities in western Michigan say a woman has been found dead after potential rescuers were unable to enter her burning home.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department says the woman was unable to exit the home after it caught fire about 10 a.m. Thursday. It says a deputy and a neighbor tried to enter the home to rescue her but were driven back by smoke and fire.
The department says the woman was found dead after the fire was extinguished. Her name hasn’t been released.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
