AMMUNITION COMPANY-GUILTY PLEAS
BOZEMAN, Mont. — Two Montana men who ran a now-defunct ammunition company have pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges over the dumping of lead-contaminated wastewater into the Bozeman sewer system. Zachary Daniel Flanagan, 26, former chief executive of USA Brass Company in Bozeman, pleaded guilty Aug. 2 to making false statements in a hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah Lynch. Flanagan admitted to deceiving sewer system operators in 2013 about the dangers posed by the contaminated water. SENT: 310 words.

ATV FATAL — A 52-year-old Havre man has been killed in an ATV accident in northern Montana. The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was driving an ATV near Fresno Reservoir around midnight Saturday to search for a jet ski which had floated away.
TASK FORCE-DUI LAWS — Members of DUI task forces are asking legislators for tougher laws against impaired driving in Montana. The state had the nation’s highest percentage of fatal crashes involving impaired drivers in three of the five years between 2012 and 2016.
