JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) _ Carl Perkins is up and around after two strokes in two weeks.

The rockabilly innovator underwent surgery in June to remove a blockage in his carotid artery.

A blood thinner and physical therapy was prescribed after the 65-year-old Perkins suffered a stroke on Nov. 20, and he suffered a second stroke Tuesday, according to his son, Stan Perkins.

Perkins, who wrote ``Blue Suede Shoes,'' was resting at his North Jackson home.
