LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Former President Reagan’s 91st birthday on Feb. 6 would be Ronald Reagan Day across Los Angeles County under a resolution Supervisor Michael Antonovich plans to introduce Tuesday.
``Ronald Reagan transferred his talents and energies from the motion picture industry to the arena of public service many decades ago and brought to the halls of government intelligence, dignity, toughness touched with sensitivity and a determination to make this a better world,″ Antonovich said.
He also praised Reagan, who has been battling Alzheimer’s disease, for being open about his illness in the hope of increasing awareness and financial support.
Reagan, who lives in Bel Air with his wife, Nancy, has rarely been seen in public since announcing in 1994 that he has Alzheimer’s.
