Police seeking information on Zelienople bank robber

November 12, 2018

Federal and local authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Zelienople bank Tuesday.

The suspect entered NexTier Bank on South Main Street at 3:30 p.m. and demanded cash, according to Zelienople police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He fled on foot with the money, investigators said. No one was hurt and the suspect did not show a weapon.

Police described him as a black man who stood about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, sneakers and a white T-shirt. His face was covered with a black mask and he wore black gloves. A surveillance photo showed the suspect pointing at a teller with a small space visible for his eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI’s Pittsburgh office at 412-432-4000. Callers can remain anonymous.
