County Commissioners purchase two new motor graders
MADISON - With winter approaching the Madison County Commissioners have made it a priority to purchase a couple new motor graders as the old ones had problems last year.
The board of commissioners chose between four different bidders at their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioner Christian Ohl said out of the four bidders, he recommended District two go with the Komatsu from Road Builders in Norfolk with a cost of $224,840.
“That’s the preference and recommendation I make. It’s a higher cost, but it’s a newer machine. The employees are familiar with the Komatsu machines, the visibility, service, and everything all together looks like it would be a good option for this crew.”
Chairman Jim Prauner said District three likes the other 2018 Komatsu Road Builders has available for $219,630.
The board unanimously approved a motion to purchase the two trucks from Road Builders.
