Ledge Light offering mosquito control program

May 7, 2019

New London — Ledge Light Health District is providing free mosquito consultation services, including on-site recommendations and “mosquito dunks,” or larvicide, to residents in the district.

Mosquito dunks treat mosquito-breeding sites to reduce the potential for transmission of mosquito-borne diseases, including West Nile virus, Eastern equine encephalitis and Zika virus. They use a naturally occurring biological larvacidal and are safe for use around the home.

For more information about mosquito dunks or to schedule a site visit, contact Joseph Blanchard at (860) 448-4882, ext. 1308, if you live east of the Thames River, or Patti Myers at (860) 434-1605, ext. 214, if you live west of the Thames River.
