VALLEY SANTA: Financial Struggles Leave Mother Seeking Help

December 18, 2018

Tara, a single mother, said her 7-year-old son Stephen is “one of the best children you could ever meet and he deserves a nice Christmas.”

For Tara, however, this year has been filled with financial struggles.

“I live paycheck to paycheck and, to say the least, still do not get by,” she wrote in a letter to Valley Santa.

Tara asked for Valley Santa’s help so that her son could have a gift to open on Christmas morning.

She was injured in a car accident earlier this year and lost her job which she said “made things a lot worse than they already were.”

She got another job and has been trying to catch up but she said “everything is backed up and I am unable to receive any assistance.”

Tara put Christmas presents for her son on layaway at Walmart but she was not able to pay off the balance.

“Every time I turn around, there are more bills or shut off letters,” she wrote. “It has been very hard determining which to pay and which to hold off on but Christmas is right around the corner, along with my son’s birthday, any help at all would be very much appreciated.”
