Spofford studying in Denmark

CANTON, N.Y. -- Hetherington R. Spofford of Concord is participating in a St. Lawrence University study-abroad program during the spring semester. Spofford, a junior majoring in Psychology, is studying in Denmark.

2 inducted to WNEU honors program

SPRINGFIELD -- Two local students were welcomed recently into Western New England University College’s College of Business Honors program.

The inductees are Amanda Bakas, a Dracut resident majoring in Exploratory-Business, and Grace Buttrick of Nashua, N.H., an Entrepreneurship major.

Gettysburg return from studies abroad

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Several local students at Gettysburg College recently returned from their studies abroad.

Michaela Dempsey, Globalization Studies major from Pepperell studied in Hungary.

Skylar Frankiewicz, an Organizations & Society major from Concord studied in England.

Emily Katz, a Biology major from Westford, studied in Chile.

Locals take lead roles at Assumption

WORCESTER -- Several local students at Assumption College have been selected to serve as president of one of the college’s more than 60 clubs and organizations for the 2018-19 academic year.

Alyssa Cunha of Billerica is president of the Merely Players, a student-run theater group that produces and performs one show per semester in Assumption’s Jeanne Y. Curtis Performance Hall.

Courtney Park of Dracut is president of the National Student Speech Hearing Language Hearing Association, which offers students opportunities to explore an interest in communication sciences disorders.

Joanna Kubiak of Billerica is president of the Peers Advocating Wellness for Students, a student-run group that promotes responsible decisions about health and wellness within the campus community.

Kelliann Keaney of Burlington is president of the Dance Marathon, a club that aims to raise money and awareness for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation by participating in a local dance marathon each year.
