LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The National Weather Service says heavy rains are returning to Arkansas and much of the state is under a threat of flooding.

Rain is expected most of the day Friday in a large swath from the southwestern corner of the state to the northeastern corner and beyond.

The weather service says heavy rain will continue on Saturday in all but the northwestern part of the state.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible on Saturday with a possibility of tornadoes.
