SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) _ Three Europeans - Trish Johnson of Wales, Caroline Pierce of England and Liselotte Neumann of Sweden, led 26 golfers who won exemptions Friday for the 1988 LPGA Tour.

Johnson shot a final-round 67 to finish up with a four-round total of 285, six strokes ahead of Pierce, who finished with 70-291. Johnson's 67 was the lowest round recorded in the qualifying tournament.

Laurel Kean was third at 292 after shotting a 72 on Friday, while Neumann was tied with Danielle Ammaccapane at 295. Neumann had a 73 and Ammaccapane a 69 in the final round.

Miki Cheng won a three-player playoff for the final exempt spot, edging Terri Carter and Gina Hull. All had tied at 304 after regulation.

Conditional status was given to the next 20 players.
