Quiet week continues before chance for weekend storms
Wednesday will be another quiet day, as a high-pressure system is blocking a storm system to North Carolina’s west.
The high-pressure system is keeping things dry, and a southerly wind is pushing in warm air.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 87 degrees, and skies will be partly cloudy.
That storm system, which is moving with a cold front, is currently over Arkansas and Missouri. It gets closer to North Carolina on Friday and moves in Saturday.
There’s a for 30 percent chance for rain Friday and a 50 percent chance for rain Saturday. Thunderstorms are possible both days, although they aren’t likely to be severe.
Sunday has a 40 percent chance for rain with another possibility for thunderstorms.
Monday is expected to be mostly clear, with temperatures around 80 degrees.
