Bourbonnais Old Navy opens today

As previously announced, Old Navy is opening today in the Water Tower Plaza in Bourbonnais, just south of Target. The new 11,364-square-foot store is in the site of the former Party City.

Earlier this year, Party City moved north to Bradley Commons, at the former site of the Gap clothing store. According to Old Navy, it’s on track to open more than 70 new stores this fiscal year.

FASTSIGNS wins honor

FASTSIGNS® of Kankakee, a local signs and visual graphics provider, was the runner-up in the Wide-Format & Signage magazine’s Project of the Year Awards at the 2019 FASTSIGNS International Convention for its work with Hoekstra Transportation and Riverside Healthcare. Both projects were selected for this award.

After Hoekstra Transportation moved to a new location in Kankakee, its goal was to build a facility to attract customers and hire more drivers. To provide branding in alliance with Hoekstra’s vision, FASTSIGNS provided custom made aluminum canopies, a large aluminum sign box with raised text and graphics, murals throughout the building, branded wayfinding and ADA signage and wall decor.

“The projects we were involved in highlight Hoekstra’s positive workplace culture,” said Dave Comer, owner at FASTSIGNS of Kankakee. “… It is noticed by the employees, and it will help with attracting and retaining top-tier talent.”

The second project that gained recognition was one focusing on Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee. FASTSIGNS created wayfinding and ADA signage, murals and channel letters. It also refinished outdoor signs and converted signs to LED lighting.

“Because of our background with Riverside, we were very in tune with what they were hoping to accomplish,” said Sonya Comer, owner at FASTSIGNS of Kankakee. “Our signs and solutions gave the customer a fresh look while still displaying the consistent branding their patients know and respect.”

The company’s work with Hoekstra Transportation and Riverside Healthcare will be included in Wide-Format & Signage magazine’s April 2019 issue.
