3-year-old with respiratory failure needs help with medical bills

Kayleana Mulligan needs help to stay alive.

The 3-year-old from Mason County is battling several respiratory problems and must be kept on a ventilator. A switch in healthcare coverage means her family is now responsible for all the supplies that are needed to operate the machine, said Kayleana’s mom, Amanda.

There are two fundraisers planned to raise money to help with Kayleana’s medical costs. A car wash will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Mason County Reformed Church, 45 S. Amber Road in Scottville.

On Saturday, Sept. 8, there will be a cookout, pool tournament, bake sale and auction beginning at 2 p.m. at The Alley Bar & Grill, 223 S. James St. in Ludington.
