Colorado Activates Neagle

June 24, 2001

DENVER (AP) _ The Colorado Rockies activated left-hander Denny Neagle, hours before his Sunday start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Neagle (5-2) had been on the DL since June 13, retroactive to June 9 with a strained right hamstring. Neagle was injured while rounding third base in the fifth inning of a June 8 start against the St. Louis Cardinals.

To make room for Neagle, Colorado optioned RHP Craig Dingman to Triple-A Colorado Springs. During four relief appearances, Dingman earned his first major league save.
