New trails available for use in Norfolk
NORFOLK - The City of Norfolk is currently finishing up a couple of trail projects before the winter weather sets in.
Staff Engineer John Cahill says they are putting up signage on the Riverfront and Connector Trail Projects to acknowledge the donors.
Cahill says the Riverfront Trail project starts at 3rd Street and Elm Avenue.
“It kind of winds back towards Johnson Park, crosses 1st street over towards Braasch Avenue and actually ties in with a trail we put in as a function of our Norfolk Avenue bridge project.”
Cahill says both of the projects didn’t cost the City a lot of money because they were able to utilize grants they had received.
He says both trails are open for use.
