Yale and Harvard meet for 148th time on the water
NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — The rowing crews from Yale and Harvard are preparing for their 148th meeting on the water.
The annual Yale-Harvard Regatta is set for Sunday on the Thames River.
The crews first met in 1852 and have competed for the Sexton Cup annually since 1859.
Harvard comes in as the favorite. The Crimson is 93-54 in the nation’s oldest intercollegiate sporting event, winning 12 of the last 13 matchups.
Yale last won the regatta in 2007 and has been swept in all four races the last five years, including the combination race Friday.
