Rutland passes stricter streetside storage ordinance
RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — Officials in Rutland have approved a change that puts a limit on parking for roadside storage.
The Rutland Herald reports the Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday to approve the amendment. Under the change, drivers cannot park vehicles that are being used for storage for over 48 hours.
City attorney Matt Bloomer says the ordinance won’t target people who park in front of apartments. Bloomer says it aimed at people who “park a bus full of belongings” in front of residences.
Some residents say the ordinance will help clean up Rutland.
