Two arrested over the weekend
Two Norfolk men were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend for outstanding warrants and on new drug charges.
Capt. Mike Bauer with the Norfolk Police Division said officers were called to a house in the 500 block of East Braasch Avenue on Sunday at 9:54 a.m.
The caller indicated that Darren J. Wolf, 39, was there and had an active Madison County arrest warrant.
When officers arrived, Wolf initially answered the door, but he quickly shut and locked the door when he saw the officers, Bauer said.
Wolf attempted to exit through a window, but he again retreated inside when he saw the officers.
Wolf eventually complied with the officers’ request to exit, and he was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant. In a subsequent search of Wolf, officers recovered a handmade glass pipe with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine. Wolf was arrested for the warrant, for possession of a controlled substance and for obstructing a police officer.
Wolf was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
On Saturday morning, Norfolk police officers were called to the 100 block of Gold Strike Drive for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers found several subjects in an apartment parking lot.
One of the subjects was identified as Dustin T. Wright, 32. A check of warrant showed that Wright had two active Madison County warrants, and he was taken into custody.
In a subsequent search, officers recovered marijuana cigarettes, as well as a prescription pill identified as Adderall from Wright.
Wright did not have a prescription for the controlled medication.
He was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, and Wright was arrested for the warrants and for possession of a controlled substance.
Wright was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
