Marino Won’t Play Sunday
MIAMI (AP) _ Dan Marino, sidelined since Oct. 17 because of a pinched nerve in his neck, has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Buffalo.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback flew Tuesday to Los Angeles, where he was examined by neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Watkins.
Marino, 38, resumed throwing last week, and he had hoped to receive clearance to return to action. But Watkins, who first saw Marino two weeks ago, said the veteran quarterback needs more rehabilitation before he plays again.
``Dr. Watkins felt that the overall visit was very positive,″ team trainer Kevin O’Neill said in a statement. ``He was extremely pleased with Dan’s improvement in terms of his strength and his reduction in symptoms.″
The Dolphins, who lead the AFC East at 7-1, have gone 3-0 with Damon Huard starting in place of Marino.
