Pooch Found in Postal Box
SEATTLE (AP) _ A 2-month-old puppy was rescued after spending the weekend stuffed in a postal box.
The mixed-breed female pup was found in the mailbox Monday after an anonymous caller reported hearing the puppy barking, said King County Animal Control spokeswoman Delores Petty.
With the help of a postal worker, the dog was removed from the box and is being kept at the Seattle animal shelter. If the animal’s owner can’t be found, it will be put up for adoption.
The seven or eight pieces of mail that had bee in the box with the puppy were soiled, but were cleaned up for delivery, said Art Gunderman, a Postal Service spokesman.
