Chase Rice brings energetic show to Keith-Albee
Rising country music star and former reality TV personality Chase Rice performed Sunday night at the Keith-Albee.
He planned to give all proceeds above costs to the Young Life of Huntington youth ministry. Rice, who has known Young Life of Huntington director Brad Bucklad since the eighth grade, said he was excited to be able to give back to Young Life, a ministry that helped guide him through his youth and that has continued to help guide him to this day.
Rice, a former University of North Carolina linebacker and former NASCAR pit crew member for Hendrick Motorsports, was a runner-up in 2010 on CBS’ “Survivor.”
He co-wrote the Florida Georgia Line song “Cruise,” which put him on the radar of country music fans.
His full-length album, “Ignite the Night,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart. It also produced a pair of Top 5 hits, “Ready Set Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight.”
