Council to look at library expansion
The Watertown Public Library expansion project may continue forward on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when the Watertown Common Council reviews a resolution approving a jurisdictional offer to acquire property at 213-215 W. Main St.
The council will also discuss Clasen Quality Chocolate purchasing land in the industrial park off of West Street. Members of the council will have to review a proposed settlement agreement to resolve legal disputes with Timothy Otterstatter and BT Equipment, LLC arising from the Watertown Municipal Airport Improvement Project.
The council will review two ordinances on their first readings. One ordinance is the adoption of amendments to the 2009 City of Watertown Comprehensive Plan and the other ordinance changes the zoning for 111 and 211 Hiawatha St. and 907 Oak St. from general business to general industrial.
The council will take action on a number of resolutions. They include:
-- An agreement with K&K Masonry for the 2019 Watertown Welcome Sign Project.
-- An updated agreement for Wisconsin Public Employers’ Health Insurance Program.
-- A budget amendment to decrease engineering salaries account and increase engineering part-time salaries account in the amount of $7,300 for the hire of a summer intern for the engineering department.
-- A budget amendment to decrease the contingent fund and increase the street department new street lights account by an amount not to exceed $4,000 for an additional street light on Gateway Drive near Airport Road.
-- A budget amendment to decrease the solid waste supplies and expense account and increase the solid waste capital account by $625 and allow for the purchase of a new garbage truck.
-- A revised 2019 Sidewalk Repair Program.
-- The purchase of an EZ Screen Top Soil Screener.
-- The purchase of a ball diamond groomer.
-- A Change No. 1, 2019 Pavement Marking Project with Century Fence.
-- A Change No. 1, 2019 Sidewalk, Curb and Gutter Project with Rennhack Construction.
-- A Change Order No. 1, 2019 Bituminous Surfacing Project with Stark Pavement.
