Foster ‘excited’ city manager contract negotiations underway

February 1, 2019

Contract negotiations are underway between the City of Ludington and Mitch Foster, the 30-year-old formerly of Scottville to whom the Ludington City Council has conditionally offered the job of city manager.

Foster is currently the village administrator for Winneconne — a lakeside community in northeast Wisconsin, with a population of 2,500 residents that doubles during the summer tourist season, he said.

“I’m excited,” Foster said. “I really do enjoy working in Winneconne. It has a great elected body and a great community. But being able to make it home to Ludington and to be the city manager is an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”

The job offer is conditional upon Foster passing criminal and civil background checks, the contract negotiations coming to a mutual agreement and the council approving the final contract.
