Handyman charged with exposing himself

November 14, 2018

MONROE - A local handyman has been accused of exposing himself to a homeowner.

Vincent Martire, 72, of Rustown Drive, Stratford, was charged Tuesday with public indecency and second-degree breach of peace.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Police said a female homeowner had hired Martire, a self-employed handyman, to paint her back porch.

After he had completed the job the woman went to pay Martire and noticed his pants were undone and his genitals were hanging out, police said.

The woman didn’t say anything but called police after Martire had left.

Police said when they confronted Martire he told them, “I have this problem. I have a habit of touching myself to be honest.”
