Victorinox Swiss Army is re-opening its factory in Monroe with a new look and stock of items.
After closing in April, the store, located at the corporation’s North American headquarters at 7 Victoria Drive, was completely renovated. It will be officially reopening Saturday with a series of new additions and a three-person staff on hand.
According to Victorinox Swiss Army representatives, the revamped look reflects the company’s retail presence in the global market.
“There really is something for everyone,” said Renee Hourigan, vice president of marketing for Victorinox Swiss Army, North America. “What we offer is unique. To be able to have the everyday and higher-end products in all of those categories I think is a real value to the town and, quite honestly, I think people probably aren’t aware that (the store is) there, so we do look at this as opportunity to let people know that.”
With the new look, the factory store is bringing a new assortment of items for customers to choose from.
The store carries a full assortment of Swiss Army knives, kitchen cutlery, travel gear, men’s and women’s fragrances, and more. The store will also carry a mix of items from Swiss Army’s Wenger brand of watches and backpacks.
“In the past, it was a lot of discontinued items or closeout items,” Hourigan said. “They were looking for the new and current things, so the new assortment really takes that into consideration.”
Consumers can now find items the featured in ads or online. The factory store will still have discontinued and closeout items, offering lower pricing for the older products.
The store will offer an array of services for customers, including watch and knife repair. Hourigan said there will also be a cutlery sharpening service planned down the line.
“We’re proud to be part of a business community of a combination of small-business owners as well as larger corporations.” Hourigan said.
Victorinox Swiss Army will be joined by town officials Saturday at 12:30 to celebrate the reopening.
The event will feature an array of giveaways, activities and food trucks throughout the day. There will also be a meet and greet event featuring former New York Jet and Hall of Fame inductee Tony Richardson.
