WESTAR RATES-CUTS PROPOSED
TOPEKA — Kansas utility regulators are being urged to reject Westar Energy’s request for a $17.2 million rate increase and instead order the company to cut rates for Kansas customers by $69 million to $125 million. UPCOMING: 300 words
SALINA, Kan. — Monsignor Gerald “Jerry” L. Vincke will become bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Salina. The announcement was made official Wednesday by Pope Francis. Vincke, who joins the Salina diocese by way of the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan, was ordained to the priesthood in June 1999 in Lansing, Mich., by Bishop Carl F. Mengeling. UPCOMING: 250 words.
