Coroner: Fire victims asphyxiated from smoke inhalation

November 26, 2018

The two people who died in a Sunday house fire in Huntington have yet to be identified, but the Huntington County coroner’s office on Monday said the pair asphyxiated from smoke inhalation.

Because of the extent of their injuries, the coroner’s office is still working to confirm the victims’ identities, the coroner’s office said in a statement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Huntington Fire Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
