Minority students invited to scholarship forum

HUNTINGTON — A community scholarship forum has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Fellowship Hall of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, 1647 9th Ave. in Huntington.

The purpose of the forum is to provide a platform for community organizations to share information on scholarships available to minority students and to present helpful tips for youth to take advantage of their opportunities to receive scholarships and other types of financial assistance. Representatives from community organizations, Marshall University, Huntington Junior College, MCTC and Cabell County Career & Technology Center will be present. Sandra Clements will be the facilitator.

Area high school students are strongly encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.

The forum is sponsored by the Community Scholarship Forum Committee, Huntington Chapter of The Links Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
