Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum more than half full for Washington State, USC game

September 22, 2018

LOS ANGELES – Many thought the obscurity of a week night game, USC’s win-loss record and ongoing renovations to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum would deter Trojans fans from showing up to Friday’s contest against Washington State.

The Coliseum may not have drawn record numbers, but it was still more than half-full for a Pac-12 duel against the Cougars. Attendance for Friday’s game was recorded at 52,421. The historic LA venue, which is also home to the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, officially seats 93,607.

The Trojans brought in 58,708 fans four weeks ago for their season opener against UNLV. According to Uscfootball.com, their lowest-attended game of this century came in 2000 – and came against the Cougars. In the final season under former coach Paul Hackett, USC drew just 40,565 fans to 33-27 loss to WSU.

According to the Orange County Register, StubHub was selling tickets to Friday night’s game between WSU and USC for $11, while SeatGeek had general admission tickets available for $13.
