Seymour Selectmen to fill Karen Stanek’s vacancy
SEYMOUR-The town’s Board of Selectmen is expected to nominate and approve the selection of a new Democratic member when they meet tonight in town hall.
The special meeting was called at 7 p.m. to fill the unexpired term of the late Karen Stanek.
Stanek, a retired Seymour High social studies teacher, died at age 70 March 8 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. She and her husband, Fred, a member of the Seymour Board of Education, built a legacy of serving on town committees and boards as well as Valley non-profit organizations.
The meeting will begin with a moment of silence in Stanek’s memory.
It is expected that Rob VanEgghen will be nominated to fill Stanek’s expired term
