WV Treasurer: Don’t go to state Capitol for unclaimed property

October 2, 2018

The West Virginia Treasurer’s Office is asking anyone seeking unclaimed property to visit its Unclaimed Property Division office instead of going to the state Capitol.

Located at 322 70th St., in Charleston, the Unclaimed Property Division is open to anyone seeking help with unclaimed property and any type of related claims, the office said in a news release Saturday.

By going to the Unclaimed Property Division office instead of the Capitol, constituents can access more resources through the office’s staff, the release said.

Individuals can also file claims online through the Office of the Treasurer’s website, at wvtreasury.com, or via mail, by sending documents to P.O. Box 4228, Charleston, West Virginia 25364.
