CINCINNATI (AP) _ John Smiley and two relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Cincinnati Reds snapped the Atlanta Braves’ seven-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory Wednesday night.

Smiley (6-1) allowed only Jeff Blauser’s single leading off the fourth over seven innings before being pinch hit for. Hector Tarrasco gave up a single to Mark Blauser in the eighth and Jeff Brantley, who earned his 10th save, gave up Fred McGriff’s 10th homer in the ninth with two outs.

Tom Glavine (5-4), who had been 12-0 in 13 career starts at Riverfront Stadium, allowed four hits in seven innings as Cincinnati manufactured runs on infield outs and sacrifice flies. Jerome Walton figured in two of the Reds’ runs, scoring in the first and driving in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Glavine hit Walton to start the Reds’ first. Walton stole second, went to third to on a groundout and scored on Ron Gant’s grounder to short.

Gant doubled to open the sixth, went to third on a fly out and scored on Bret Boone’s sacrifice fly.

Cincinnati got an unearned run in the seventh when Damon Berryhill singled, went to third when David Justice mishandled pinch-hitter Craig Worthington’s single to right, and scored on Walton’s sacrifice fly.

Notes: Jose Rijo, who pitched one inning Saturday before developing a sore elbow, will start Sunday against the Marlins. It will be Rijo’s first start since getting a cortisone shot, and possibly his last attempt to avoid surgery. ... Marquis Grissom went 0-for-4, ending his hitting streak at 14 games, which had matched his career high.
