San Antonio Rampage beat Rockford IceHogs for season’s first win streak

The San Antonio Rampage have won back-to-back games for the first time this season after knocking off the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 on Saturday at the AT&T Center.

At 5-12-0-0, the Rampage remain last in the AHL standings with 10 points. The IceHogs are 8-7-1-2 after the loss.

San Antonio opened the scoring on a power-play goal at 14:35 of the second period. Austin Poganski jammed the puck home through a crowd in front of the net, with assists credited to Jordan Nolan and Mitch Reinke.

Jacob Nilsson evened up the score with a power-play goal at 18:05 of the second.

Adam Musil provided the game-winning goal from the left circle off a one-timer from Tanner Kaspick at 9:07 of the third period. Joey LaLeggia picked up the secondary assist.

The Rampage limited the IceHogs to 15 shots, with goalie Jordan Binnington stopping 14 of them.

San Antonio will look to keep the win streak alive in a home rematch against Rockford at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
