Bond Prices Mixed at Midday
NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mixed at midday Tuesday.
The price of the Treasury’s 10-year note was virtually unchanged while its yield held steady at 4.02 percent from late Friday. Financial markets were closed on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The 30-year bonds were down 7/32 point and yielded 4.90 percent, up from 4.88 percent late Friday, according to Moneyline Telerate.
Two-year Treasury notes were little changed and yielded 1.66 percent, down from 1.67 percent late Friday.
Yields on one-month Treasury bills were 0.78 percent as the discount held at 0.77 percent. Yields on three-month Treasury bills were 0.87 percent as the discount held at 0.86 percent. Six-month yields held at 0.96 percent as the discount held at 0.94 percent.
Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
