No threat at Batavia High School, school cleared for classes

BATAVIA – Batavia High School will begin classes at 10:51 a.m. after the police have cleared the building after an extensive search found no threat to safety. The building will open at 10:30 a.m. to students as busses arrive.

There was a massive police response after a caller reported a man entered the building with a rifle. The school was on lockdown, which has since been lifted.

According to reports on the scene, a person fitting the description was found carrying a baseball bat and bag.
