Train hits unoccupied patrol car near Wichita
RIVERSIDE, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say a train has struck a patrol car that got stuck on railroad tracks near Wichita.
The Wichita Eagle reports that the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says the deputy got out of the patrol car early Saturday before the collision. The train came along minutes after the deputy lost control of the patrol car while responding to a 911 call and got stuck on the tracks.
The crash is under investigation.
