Armstrong County man charged with sharing pictures, videos of himself having sex with ex-girlfriend
State police are accusing an Armstrong County man of recording himself having sex with a teenage girl without her knowledge then sending the pictures and videos to other people.
Tanner Michael Stennett, 19, of West Franklin, was arrested Tuesday. He faces 31 felony charges of sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility.
According to state police, Stennett and the girl dated between March 2016 and September 2017. She was 16 and 17 years old at the time; he is about six months older. They broke up shortly after her 18th birthday, state police said.
Stennett allegedly photographed and recorded himself having sex with the victim without her knowledge or consent.
Stennett allegedly began sending the pictures and videos to people from March to June of this year in an attempt to harass the victim after she got a new boyfriend, state police said.
State police say the victim’s current boyfriend and other friends deleted images from one of Stennett’s devices, but he allegedly boasted to others that he still possessed numerous images and videos of himself having sex with the victim.
Several phones that state police discovered when they executed a search warrant at Stennett’s home were sent to a crime lab. Investigators allegedly found numerous pornographic images and videos on them, as well as in a cloud storage account that also was searched.
Stennett was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge James Owen. He was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Owen on Nov. 21.
