NEWARK — Rapper Juelz Santana’s scheduled trial on charges he tried to get a gun onto a plane at Newark Liberty International Airport has been pushed back so he can continue negotiations for a plea deal. UPCOMING: 300 words by 1 p.m.


NORTH BERGEN — Motorists will get their first taste of traffic congestion caused by a long-term project to rebuild and rehabilitate the viaduct and roadway approaching the Lincoln Tunnel in northern New Jersey. The state Department of Transportation will close an on-ramp from busy Kennedy Boulevard to westbound Route 495 on Friday night. Motorists will be detoured onto Route 3 and Routes 1&9. — MOTHER DAUGHTER SLAIN — A woman accused of beating her mother and grandmother to death in their New Jersey beach home will remain jailed until her trial.

— POLICE OFFICERS SHOT — A second New Jersey police officer shot in what authorities say was an ambush attack has been released from the hospital.

— TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASH — New Jersey State Police say a tractor trailer collided with a construction vehicle.
