FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Michelle Suman scored 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting Friday night as No. 21 San Diego State completed a perfect Western Athletic Conference season with a 73-54 victory over Fresno State.

It was the 16th straight win for San Diego State, which finished its WAC season 14-0 and is 22-4 overall.

Fresno State (13-13 overall, 5-9 WAC), with just seven players available due to injuries, did make it interesting, holding a 40-36 lead with 16:16 left.

But San Diego State went ahead for good with a 9-0 run, six of them by Christina Murguia, to take a 45-40 lead with 14:22 left.

Fresno State stayed close, trailing 47-44 with 10:57 left on a basket by center Tanisha Huddleston. Suman then shut the door with three straight baskets, all from the inside.

Huddleston led Fresno State with 24 points. She and Corry Carter each had 10 rebounds.

Fresno State outrebounded San Diego State 40-27, but committed 29 turnovers to San Diego State’s 13.

San Diego State was without its leading scorer, Falisha Wright, who had a left ankle sprain and lower leg contusion.
