Auditions for the annual production of the Nutcracker set for Sept. 22

September 5, 2018

POCATELLO - The Nutcracker, now in its 14th year, and produced by Alliance Academy of Dance’s Sergiu Brindusa and Beth Moore, will soon hold open auditions for the community production for ages 6 and up.

This cherished holiday classic will also be presented to all School District #25 5th graders on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Students will have the opportunity to see the production as one of the districts approved yearly field trips held at ISU’s Frazier Hall Theatre.

“It was such wonderful news to hear that the youth of Pocatello will once again get the chance to experience the beloved story of The Nutcracker and witness it in a true theatre setting,” Brindusa said.

“The requests to bring back the ballet to the 5th graders was astounding,” said Moore.

In years past, school performances of The Nutcracker were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pocatello from 2006-2015.

Public performances for The Nutcracker will take place Dec. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online beginning Oct. 1.

If you would like a chance to be part of the cast, auditions will take place Sept. 22 at the Alliance Academy of Dance studios.
