November 7, 2018

DENVER (AP) — Officials say the two victims of a recent fatal plane crash outside of Broomfield were both men from Erie.

The Denver Post reports the Adams and Broomfield county coroner announced that John Campbell and Tobias Campbell died Friday when the home-built, single-engine plane they were flying crashed into an open area of Anthem Ranch.

The release from the coroner on Monday says the cause and manner of their deaths are still under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board says the plane crashed just before noon Friday south of Erie Municipal Airport.

The board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
