American Legion post honors local students

— The Herald-DispatchMay 26, 2019

HUNTINGTON — The Huntington American Legion Post 16 was founded a hundred years ago on four pillars — Treatment of our veterans and their widows and children, National Security, Americanism and Children and Youth.

Due to the American’s Legion Huntington Post 16 commitment to the area’s children and youth, they annually recognize the outstanding high school students around the city and present them with a certificate and award.

This year we are honored to present to the following students: Huntington High School, Lakin Beckett and Maceon Wheeler; St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, Hunter Blake and Erika Turner; and from Grace Christian School, Kirsten Renee Irvin and Jacob Tanner Perdue.

Huntington Post 16 of The American Legion congratulates these outstanding students and wishes them the best in their future endeavors.
