Johns Hopkins 87, Gettysburg 77

BALTIMORE (AP) _ Junior forward Greg Roehrig scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lift Johns Hopkins over Gettysburg, 87-77, Wednesday night.

With the win the Blue Jays clinched at least second place in the Centennial West Division and therefore a conference playoff berth.

Hopkins (16-5) fell behind early but rallied to pull ahead 40-39 at the half on a putback at the buzzer by Roehrig. The Blue Jays never trailed again, slowly outdistancing the Bullets (6-15) in the second half. Hopkins dominated the glass throughout the game, outrebounding Gettysburg by a 42-27 margin.

Senior center Matt Gorman scored 24 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Senior forward Wes Unseld added 12 points and six boards, while junior guard Kamau Coar dished seven assists.

For Gettysburg, senior forward Dave Sowers had 15 points and six rebounds while senior forward Paul Howard and freshman guard Ryan Napp added 14 points each. Sophomore forward Matt Rothenberger chipped in 13 points and six boards.
