August 27, 2018

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — Police allege a Quincy man attacked and bit a 71-year-old man after accusing the victim of taking down election posters.

The Patriot Ledger reports 56-year-old Peter Bernier was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on an elderly person.

The incident occurred Sunday at an apartment building in the city.

Police say the two men began arguing after Bernier stepped off an elevator and accused the victim of taking down the posters that he previously hung up. The victim was allegedly attacked with a set of keys and bitten on the arm before he was able to get away and call police.

It was not immediately known if Bernier had an attorney to represent him.
