Rams WR Cooper Kupp suffers torn ACL
The Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl hopes remain strong, but their chances were dealt a big blow with a season-ending injury to WR Cooper Kupp.
Kupp suffered a torn ACL in the Rams’ Week 10 win over the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN.
Kupp suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the game on a non-contact play. He was helped off the field by the Rams’ training staff and did not return. It has been a tough season for injuries for Kupp, who suffered a concussion during the first meeting with Seattle in Week 5 and then was carted off with a knee injury against the Broncos the following week.
Kupp leads the Rams with six TD receptions and is third on the team in catches (40) and receiving yards (566).
The Rams still have MVP candidate Todd Gurley in the backfield, and their two leading receivers, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks. But losing Kupp takes some of the sting out of the NFL’s third-highest scoring team.
