Kansas St-Baylor Preview Capsule
WACO, Texas (AP) — No. 9 KANSAS ST. (9-2, 7-1 Big 12, No. 9 CFP) at No. 5 BAYLOR (10-1, 7-1, No. 6 CFP), 7:45 p.m. (ESPN)
Series Records: Kansas State leads 7-4.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
The winner is assured a share of the Big 12 championship, with Baylor trying to defend its only title after Kansas State was the 2012 co-champion. They would play for an outright title if Iowa State pulls off an unlikely upset at No. 4 TCU earlier in the day. K-State was No. 1 in the BCS standings before its last trip to Waco two years ago, and lost 52-24.
Nation’s top offense against Big 12′s best defense. Baylor has piled up 581 yards and 49.8 points a game, while K-State has held opponents to 341 yards and 20.3 points a game. The Bears can move the ball even if quarterback Bryce Petty doesn’t play after a mild concussion last week. His backup, Seth Russell, leads the Big 12 in pass efficiency, ahead of Kansas State’s Jake Waters and No. 3 Petty.
