WVC TENNIS ROUNDUP: Doubles Win Lifts Crusaders

At Coughlin, the Crusaders got a three-set win from their top doubles team of Marilyn Ogof and Gianna Valenti, the difference in a 3-2 win over Wyoming Area.

Coughlin (6-3) got a singles win from Sydney Daley and a doubles win from Bree Soriano and Hailey McMullen.

Wyoming Area’s Brianna Pizzano and Bella Scappatucci won the top two doubles matches.

SINGLES: 1. Brianna Pizzano (WA) over Rachel Bath 6-0, 6-0; 2. Bella Scappatucci (WA) over Chabee Patel 6-0, 6-4; 3. Sydney Daley (COU) over Stephanie Palauchak 6-3, 7-5.

At Wyoming Seminary, Sem’s top doubles team of Paige Parsons and Riley Jensen swept their match, part of the Blue Knights win.

Nicole Joanlanne, Emily Urbanski and Shailee Desai won singles matches. Parker Callahan and Becca Hammerman added a doubles win.

At Kirby Park, Camryn Cassetori and Tea Amerise blanked their opponents their matches powering the Royals sweep.

Cassie Benderavich was a singles winner, as were the doubles teams of Vanessa Pinto and Carissa Benderavich, and Jenna Biago and Jordan Stochala.

At Berwick, Lily Nowak’s 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles powered a singles sweep that was enough for the Cougars to take the match.

Alyssa Mazurek and Maddie Terracino also had singles wins.

Berwick got wins from the doubles teams of Ellie Kozak and Gabby Segura, and Isa Segura and Piper Mensinger.
